A sophisticated city at the crossroads of history, London has much to offer visitors. A guided tour is the best way to enjoy the sights and sounds of a city as large and vibrant as London. This tour will give you the opportunity to get the most out of a single day visit. Stops on the tour will allow ample time at every monument, not quick drive-bys.

Your exciting full day of sightseeing begins at the Tower of London the former prison and execution site of three Queens of England. A morning visit gives swift entry into the Jewel House to view the crown jewels, held here for safe keeping every night for the last 600 years. The Sovereign of the United Kingdom uses these regalia and vestments during noble appearances. This incomparable collection includes stunning orbs, swords, rings, crowns, and scepters. This visit includes the famous white tower, where, according to legend, Richard III held and then murdered ‘Princes in the Tower’ to seize the throne from their father, King Edward IV.

A river shuttle then takes you up the Thames to see the changing of the guards either at Buckingham Palace or at Horse Guards Parade. Your guide will secure a prime viewing position and provide historical commentary about the ceremony. (Please note that this experience is subject to weather conditions.)
End the morning portion of your tour at Buckingham Palace, the residence of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Next, your guide will provide recommendations for excellent nearby restaurants where you can have lunch on your own. The tour reconvenes for a walking tour of the city’s most iconic buildings and monuments, which begins at Trafalgar Square and proceeds down Whitehall. The street and surrounding area bear the name of the Palace of Whitehall, once the residence of Kings Henry VIII through to William III. Only the Banqueting House survived a fire in 1698. Britain's primary war memorial, the Cenotaph, stands here and government departments and ministries, line this street, which is the center of British governmental administration. You will also view the Horse Guards, shielded by the Household Cavalry in sentry boxes, mounted on magnificent steeds. Only the Queen may drive through the central archway, otherwise, you must present a special pass card.
The tour passes by Downing Street, home to the British Prime Minister, before arriving at Parliament Square, which has spectacular views of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. After learning about the Palace of Westminster, home to the British Parliament, you move on to Westminster Abbey, site of royal coronations and weddings, including the recent wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton in 2011.

Complete your afternoon with a superb traditional English tea. Enjoy scones with jam and clotted cream, a selection of tea sandwiches and delicate cakes, and a proper pot of fresh tea. This timeless tradition takes place in the stunning surroundings of a traditional London luxury hotel and is a must for every visitor to London.
