History of the Lido de Paris
Thinking of the "world's most famous cabaret", the Lido de Paris stands out. With its history that dates from the time of World War II in 1946, the Lido has provided outrageous ideas turned into dazzling shows to entertain and amaze.
Two Italian brothers, Joseph and Louis Clerico, purchased the Lido in 1946. They hired a showman, Pierre-Louis Guérin, to manage and begin the quest to bring their spectacular ideas to life. An experienced producer, Renée Fraday was then hired to travel and locate the best of international attractions to present.
With the addition in 1948 of Miss Bluebell, originally from Germany, and the Bluebell Girls, the stage was set for outrageous entertainment. Having been fashionable in the 1920s with the Belle Epoque feeling of the Lido Beach and Venice, the five originators transformed the cabaret into a venue for glittering revues and celebrations of life.
Today's Lido de Paris
